Holographic will – A holographic will is written entirely in the handwriting of the testator. If it is also dated and signed by the testator, it is a valid will in many states. A holographic will generally does not need to be witnessed, and it does not have to be signed in front of a Notary. The key is that it must be entirely handwritten, and cannot be a printed form that is filled in, and then signed by the testator.
