Venue – Venue refers to the possible or proper place to start or conduct a legal proceeding. It is usually deals with which county a suit should be brought in. Venue should not be confused with subject matter jurisdiction. Subject matter jurisdiction governs which court has the power to hear the case, while venue determines the place where that power should be exercised.
